04.01-03.05 Austin, TX
Dayuuuum--What can be said about B-Boy City weekend? This event
showcased the creme ala creme of B-boy talent, some great TX
graf, a very entertaining 2 on 2 MC battle, a few of TX's top
emcees and some great upcoming designers.
Day 1: Ruta Maya
The first night of B-boy City was "movie night" where
some great video was shown of the culture, including Prhymemate's
Clogged Caps 3. The night also hosted the first round of DJ
battles, 2 on 2 MC battles, as well as some live performances
by Cabbage Patch, and Quece iMC. Also shown, was some graf art
by Austin's Sloke and MSG. In the mean time and in between time,
B-boys and girls were steadily anticipating and practicing for
the next few days events.

Day 2. South Austin Recreation Center
The Mofoz crew again was fighting the hurt from lack of a good
nights sleep, however soldiered on to day 2 of the event. We
were met up by H-town compadres, DJ Mik One, Jessica, as well
as Rishi of B-Boy
Hodown. The day started with the youth b-boy battle which
showed that the hip hop culture was saved for at least one more
generation. We met many parents who should be idolized by other
parents for giving their children an opportunity to get exercise,
be creative, and learn first hand (not over commercial TV) about
the hip hop culture. Our hats off to you parents.
The day progressed to the preliminary crew battles, Micky and
Mallory battles, as well as DJ cuts by Panda, and Comp
1....and the night ended with DJ Mik One, Jessica, and I
travelling to Baby A's for purple margaritas, you know how we
do.

Day 3: Paradox Night Club
We arrived on the scene at Paradox to set up the Mofoz Visualz
lounge, where many tired b-boys and girls rested there weary
heads before the competition started up again. We were met by
our patna n crime Park Nast of Word
Association who was on hand to promote the crew's albums
and upcoming performances.

The day's events were exhausting, and we weren't even in the
competition. j's that shook the crowd up were Chicken
George, Panda, Comp
1 among others. The 2 on 2 MC battle was taken by Ray C
(SA), and Zeale 32 (ATX)-look out for these two talents, they
are no joke. Other performers included Bavu
Blakes, Tee Double, and Wyldelife Entertainment.

DurteRebelz
clothing showed up from Chicago to show off some really
nice punk/hip hop designs.

Watch out for Panic Clothing company from LA, Cali.

Well, as the night became early morning...around 3:15, we decided
to call it a night...morning...whatever. Just as we exited the
door, the crowd followed, which would normally be cool, but
the competition didn't seem to be over. After a lot of confusion,
we found out that the club started kicking b-boys out by the
herds so that they could close shop--but these mofoz wantedto
keep on dancing-so they did. The street was where the dancers
took it--whats more street than that? the mood was nice, as
cop cars swarmed in, but mostly left these dancers to do the
damn thing. Aside from one headsick bouncer, and one cop trying
to prove a badge is all powerful, the authority of the evening
was pretty cool. After about 30 minutes of organized mayhem,
the crowd started dispersing, as did we.
Shout outs to Romeo and the whole B-Boy
City Crew, for putting on an amazing event. Thanks to all
the heads that showed up and supported the event. We will see
you again next year-peace-
