After a long, early evening of fighting off two-wheeled traffic in Austin's downtown- due to the annual Harley Davidson Rally , we arrived at The Parish on 6th street.

The Parish, formerly the Mercury, (which is known for legendary performances where Bavu Blakes, Tre God, and Tee Double mastered ceremonies at Hip Hop Humpdays) was a welcome sanctuary from both the rain and the roar of thousands of Harley's.

Once in doors- Grupo Fantasma's infectious rhythm of horns, percussion and spanish vocals; that could not be classified into any specific genre, caused hips to gyrate, and feet to move. Musically , Grupo can be heard pulling influences from cumbias, latn funk, jazz and hip-hop and has a stage performance that has to be seen to be believed.

As the first set came to a halt, DJ Alvarado kept the music going as the energized Grupo took a break before their second set.

The second set was more energized and emphatic than the first and was followed by a raging encore performance.
