Sept 17th-Houston, TX.
The Houston Underground came through for an all proceeds benefit
to make money for the victims and families affected by Hurricane
Katrina (that bitch). This evening proved to be not only a positive
stride to help others more in need, but also acted as proof
of what the Houston underground can accomplish within a small
amount of planning and enough talent of all aspects to go around.
.
Mofoz Visualz was more than happy to be a part of this cause,
and our hats go off to the main promoters of this event DJ Remix
and Werd of Regurge/BK
Crew. These guys assembled and executed a night that showcased
over 20 DJ's, 15+ performers, sponsors, artists, and magazines
to all help out in promoting and enjoying an unforgettable night
of music. This is truly what real hip hop is all about; coming
together as a community for progressive change and showcasing
some of the city's top acts while doing it.

Mofoz Visualz donated a painting, some shirts, and some custom
designed kicks courtesy of Adio
footwear. Other prizes included diamond earings/jewelry from
our man DJ Killa Kut, artwork on kicks from Article, Bryer,
and other artists, apparel by BBC, and so many other prizes
I can't remember or list right now.

Artwork was provided throughout the three rooms of music, and
the outside walls by the Brass Knuckles crew which was nothing
short of amazing. Word had it that it took the last two weeks
of paint and heart to finish in time for the night.
The music was exceptional-everyone that took stage, which was
more than just a lil bit, had intense focus and emotion. SWAT
and V-Zilla
(click
here to see Zilla's Headbanger Boogie Monster Video filmed by
Fly Guy Productions, nice shirt, by the way), who were promoting
the new SWAT Family Mixtape, had the night so krunk that the
speakers actually gave up on them...after a lil sound check
and cooling of the equipment, the show began and they picked
up where they left off.

Other performance that gained my attention were Savvi
who fired off some bangers from his promising debut album Hueston
Chronicles, Lower
Life Form, who had some new music to bounce to, Hafaza,
Southern
Intellect, Slogun, Ish,
maaaan the list goes on and on. This show aside from it being
hotter than hell's kitchen was one of the most enjoyable shows
we've hit up this past year.
The Mofoz Visualz crew would like to thank everyone that came
together for this benefit. All the heads that showed up. All
the promoters getting the word out, all the artists and writers
donating their time and effort,B Boy Fraud, Qenetic Storm, Fly
Guy Productions, Killa Kut, our boy Lucas who road tripped with
us, the Brass Knuckles crew, Kris at Kinetic, Comp, BBC,Shorty
at Houston
Hip Hop.com-Pimpin' Ken for letting us crash at the pad,
Lower Life Form and Adio
Skate Shoes for hookin us up with something to put paint
on and especially Remix and Werd for streamlining this show
and making it a success in so many ways. The final tally was
under about $1400 (donated to the Star of Hope Foundation) plus
a lot of groceries and clothing for our neighbors from Louisianna.
