In the spirit of the
holidays, a few Houston acts came together to help out a worthy
cause. The show which was put together by Crazy Tony, feautured
the acts, I-45, Studemont Project,
QUE,
Free Agents, and
State
57. All proceeds of the show went to MD Anderson childrens
art project.
QUE
The show started with the antics of State 57, a rap/rock act
originally from Houston, TX; however, visiting from their current
home in San Marcos, TX. The crowd was small at this point, which
I attribute to such an early start time (8:30), was treated
to the contrasting dynamics of sound from the band. The energy
was amazing , and the guitarist brought his a-game, wowing the
crowd with an array of rock star moves.

State

State 57 set the stage for the Free Agents. The four man DJ
group consisting of DJ Mosa, Killa Kut. Remix and Level 170,
cut and chopped their way through a set of quirky noises and
beats.
By this time, I had made the way to the bar for some very expensive
Bud 12oz's. Needless to say, I didnt make that trip too often.
Six ounces into the alcohol goodness, music soon blared and
Crazy Tony intruduced the next group, Q.U.E. The groups consisting
of Big Who, Q, and Remix had the intimate crowd gathered close
to the stage for the sounds of Q.U.E.The H-town group take a
strong influence to the good ole days of hip-hop both musically
and in entertaining the crowd.

Who
Q.U.E.'s set came to a great finish and made way for the experimental
experience known as Studemont Project. I, personally, have seen
Studemont more than a few times, and have enjoyed every outing.
This time was no exception, however E-Classes' MPC was missing
from the lineup this night. Still, a pretty thorough thorough
job rockin mics and keeping the speakers tremblin'.

DJ Vango then had a turn at the ones and deuces spinning a
good mix of that ole school hip hop. I-45 took the stage soon
after and had the crowd up front jumping up and down and those
in the backdrop nodding in agreement. These guys definitely
packed a power punch at the end of the night, which led into
the impromptuthe freestyle session of the previous performers.
