Scion sponsored the official All Star Game after party on July 13 in Houston, TX. I arrived early with members of the Scion car club, Team Scion-Eyed and was greeted with all types of free Scion schwag including mints, wristbands, caps and magazines. By no means am I getting paid by Scion (although I wish I was), so I honestly can say that Scion is doing big things for local and independent hip hop. The company sponsored this event, where DJ Chicken George gained much exposure, as well as brought hip hop legends DJ Premier and Pete Rock together for a free concert

The show was sweat drenching hot and the sound system was ear blasting loud. (For any one that knows me- I usually would never complain about volume, but DAAAMN-it was loud), and while I am venting-$4 beer?!?!?

Chicken George was more than impressive, and spun a good mix of hip hop, and even a hint of Ozomatli--this man is nice.

The Scion sponsored DJ's from Cali, DJ's Haul and Mason were equally as impressive with mixes and cuts that kept the elbow to elbow dance floor moving.

After Haul and Mason, DJ Premier took the stage and mixed some old school hip hop going through the sounds of MC Lyte, and eventually blasting the hometown favorite from the Geto Boys, My Mind Playin Tricks On Me.

After Premier's set that consisted of some old school bangers, a lesson in hip hop , and a lecture of how "real" he an Pete Rock were, Rock took the stage.

Pete Rock manuevered the turntables like the seasoned professional he is, and had the whole club swaying until late into the night.

Three days later, Team Scion Eyed headed up a meet at Don McGill Toyota, where DJ's Mik-1, Quad, and Jelly maded sure the music didn't stop.

Free BBQ and refreshments were made possible by the team at Don McGill Toyota & Red Bull. The dealership filled quickly with box shaped vehicles along with Toyota and Lexus enthusiasts ther for a night of food, music, and cars.

DJ Jelly spun some hip hop for the Notorious BIG fans. Quad had a nice mix of drum n bass, and Mic 1 ended the night with a strong mix of classics.
